Beam Suntory, the owner of spirit brands Jim Beam and Sipsmith, has hired David McDiarmid as director of digital media & activation in the UK.
McDiarmid joins after nine years at Publicis Groupe agency Digitas UK, most recently as head of media. He has previously worked at PHD, digital marketing agency Yoma and CRM services provider Arvato.
He will be based in London and will be responsible for advancing Beam Suntory’s global digital transformation through its media model to progress its “premiumisation journey”. McDiarmid will oversee the development of a “Future Media Model” with digital expertise and activation oversight within the business.
This hire follows Jerry Daykin’s appointment as VP head of media in February as Beam Suntory created a new global media function.
