Shaun Gregory

Shaun Gregory is the Managing Director of O2 Media. He is responsible for building the advertising business at Telefonica O2, which offers personalised media opportunities to over 22 million customers in the UK, and over 500million globally. Since its birth over a year ago, O2 Media in the UK has opted in over 1m customers, launched location based campaigns and created award winning App discovery campaigns. The fast growing arm of O2 UK is widely recognised as a thought leader in the personalisation space and recently announced a strategic partnership with Golden Gekko, primarily to offer brands a one stop shop of all the opportunities that span site build through to Apps themsleves. Shaun has a broad range of experience having worked in the UK media industry across newspapers, television, radio, magazines, digital and mobile for over 20 years. Prior to joining Telefonica O2 Shaun was Chief Executive at Blyk, New Media Director at The Telegraph Media Group as well as a Board Director for Emap where he stayed for 11 years. He's helped transform newspapers into digital media companies, developed some of the UK’s most innovative media brands, including Kiss, Magic and Kerrang, and launched the world's first advertiser funded mobile network. He has since been the first Executive in the UK to launch a successful opt in strategy out of an operator. He is an advocate of new media and firmly believes that mobile and personalisation will transform the UK advertising sector as we know it. He describes O2 as one of few media businesses that puts the consumer at the heart of all its thinking, and truly recognises the importance of data in the new advertising economy. Shaun is lifelong Sheffield United fan and lives in Sussex with his wife and two daughters.
